JD for the Role- Software Engineer Returnship
(12 Month Fixed Term Appointment with the possibility of permanency or extension)
Below is the job description:
- This role aims to support you in re-integrating into the workforce, providing a programme of training, mentoring and resources to help update your technical skills and become a fully-skilled engineer over the course of a year.
- You will work with the Returnship Programme Manager to design a development programme tailor-made to you, with the aim to coach and aid your return to work. You will also be assigned a technical mentor, who will help you create a personal training plan, backed by tutor-led courses and other training materials. You will also work with your mentor to plan and execute a large software project to showcase what you have learnt throughout the year.
- The first 8-12 weeks you will be in a supportive environment and able to concentrate on induction activities, building your confidence and aiding with your general return to work, as well as the initial technical skills update. Following this, you will spend time working as a developer in a number of agile teams, gaining knowledge in C# or Java, Scrum, test automation as well as a number of up-to-date frameworks.
